If you're not a fan of the Bloody Mary, maybe the Corpse Reviver is your favorite "hair of the dog" drink. This week we feature the Corpse Reviver #2 and depending how your night goes, you may want to give it a shot tomorrow. This drink was first mentioned in Harry Craddock’s famous Savoy Cocktail Book published in 1930. We recommend you pick up a copy of the book here. Here's how we like to take it:
- 1oz gin
- 1oz Cointreau
- 1oz Lillet Blanc
- 1 dash absinthe (1/8 of a teaspoon)
- .5oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 orange
- Ice cubes
Add gin, Cointreau, Lillet and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake well and strain into a cocktail glass that has been coated in absinthe. Garnish with an orange peel.
