A modern take on a great American drink with one of my favorite Irish whiskeys. First created in 1862 by Jerry Thomas, the man considered to be the father of "American mixology".
Tools:
- Cocktail shaker
- Muddler
- Double rocks glass
Ingredients:
- 1.5oz Whiskey
- 1oz Simple syrup
- 3 Lemon wedges
- 6 Fresh mint leaves
- Ice cubes
- 1 Ice Ball
Add simple syrup, lemon wedges and mint to your cocktail shaker and muddle together. Add whiskey (we went with Red Breast 12 because we love it, but you could opt for bourbon or a blended whiskey), top off with ice cubes and shake vigorously.
Strain over an ice ball in a double rocks glass and garnish with a lemon wedge and sprig of mint.
Our ice ball never even breaks a sweat, the true sign of a great cocktail!
